Fun Facts About No Escape
1. I wrote the book while building a house, which I do not recommend and will never, ever do again. It did, however, give me lots of good creative fuel for books involving hot subcontractors.
2. Grant was never supposed to have his own book. He was simply a sidekick. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with him, and for that to change.
3. Writing Dale was hard -- I didn’t want him to suffer because he’s about the same age as my son, and it felt horrible to torture him. Writing about him crushing on Angela was almost more than I could stand.
4. My original plan for Grant was to end up with Noelle’s sister, Lily, but it just didn’t work out. The poor woman is still, sadly, all alone, working on her secret aerospace projects.
5. The scene with the car accident was inspired by my own horrific experience in Springfield, Missouri -- I was a passenger in a fatal, head-on collision while visiting that town when I was a kid. If you ever meet me in person, you’ll see I still have the scars to prove it.
