Professor Luis-Martin Lozano is an art historian from the Iberoamerican University of Mexico City. Guest curator for several museums in Mexico, Spain, Germany, Japan, Canada, and the United States, Professor Lozano is one of the most renowned scholars in the study of Mexican modern masters of the twentieth century, including María Izquierdo, Rufino Tamayo, Tina Modotti, Diego Rivera, and Frida Kahlo. With a Fulbright grant and the financial support of the Rockefeller Foundation through the U.S./Mexico Fund for Culture, Luis Martin Lozano has conducted research on Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo in major museums and institutions throughout the United States. He was recently appointed director of the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City.
