Author Bio
Bob and Judy Fisher are Arkansas natives who are the parents of three grown children and four perfect grandsons. In addition to Mom, Judy’s careers have included public school teacher, with her favorite position being an 8th grade science teacher, and she now coordinates special projects that include landscaping, interior design and exterior lighting, special events, and development activities. Bob has spent his entire career (minus one year as a Goodyear store manager trainee) in the academic community serving in all of the academic ranks as well as serving as the dean of a school of business, a vice-president for academic affairs, and now serving as president of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee since April of 2000.
Bob’s favorite author is Anne Tyler (Accidental Tourist, Breathing Lessons, - he’s read them all). Tyler has the most incredible ability to normalize the story to the point that the reader is captured, just in time to be personally touched, moved, hurt, or ultimately, redeemed. Also on his list are classic fiction titles including the most influential book in his childhood, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. Beyond that the list is long and eclectic: Nathaniel Hawthorne, David McCullough, Anthony Burgess, Tom Peters, Jim Collins, and William Faulkner.
Judy ‘s favorite authors are: Harlan Coben, Jodi Picoult, Anne Tyler, and John Grisham. She particularly enjoys the short stories of Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, O’Henry, and the letters of Benjamin Franklin.
